Here is a no-butter crumble recipe, perfect for the apple season. I love adding some quinces in the mix, that balance out the sweetness with some acidity.
Ingredients
- As many apples (for sweetness) and quinces (sourness) as you like
- 120 g flour
- 8 tbsp oil or hard coconut oil
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Cut the fruit into pieces (you can keep some of the peel for a rustic look).
- In a bowl, combine the flour, almond flour, sugar, and oil.
- Mix with your fingers or a fork until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add a little water if the mixture is too dry. Do not add more flour. Spread this crumbly mixture over the fruit.
- Preheat your oven to 180 °C.
- Bake for about 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.
