Fruit crumble

Published on dessert spring summer fall winter

Ingredients

  • Fruits, cut into pieces
  • 120 g flour
  • 30 g oats
  • 75 g butter (or 5 tbsp oil or hard coconut oil)
  • 50 g sugar
  • 2 pinches salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, oats, sugar, and butter. Cover and let it cool in the fridge for at least an hour.
  2. Mix with your fingers or a fork until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs — there should be some big chunks included. Add a little water if the mixture is too dry.
  3. Cut the fruit into pieces (you can keep some of the peel for a rustic look).
  4. Spread the cold crumble over the fruit.
  5. Preheat your oven to 180 °C.
  6. Bake for about 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.

Notes

  • If using frozen fruits, make sure to throughly thaw them and drain excess liquid before using to prevent the crumble from becoming too watery.
