The basic V60 recipe I follow when preparing coffee beans for the first time.
Ingredients
- 15 g coffee
- 250 ml water
Instructions
Preparations
- Grind the coffee beans to be about the size of sand. On my Knock Aergrind, that translates to the 2.1 dial.
- Heat the water to about 93 °C. Place the filter on your V60, and thorougly wash it with the hot water a few times to remove the paper taste. This also makes sure the V60 is hot enough.
- Add the ground coffee to the filter, and make a small dip in it.
- Tare the scale.
Brewing
- 0:00 Pre-wet with 50 g of water. Gently swirl the V60 and let the coffee bloom.
- 0:45 Pour up to 100 g total (= add 50 g water).
- 1:10 Pour up to 150 g total.
- 1:30 Pour up to 200 g total.
- 1:50 Pour up to 250 g total. Gently swirl and wait for the complete drawdown.
Notes
- While pouring, use spiraling motions and try to keep the spout close to surface.
